Our
ranch is situated on the outskirts of Pécsely, a more than one
thousand year old country village. One of the reasons why the village
was founded were the five streams which flowed through the area at that
time. As early as 1244, the first water mill was constructed in Pécsely.
In former times, there was a water mill even on the terrain of our ranch.
This is why it is so romantically situated between two streams. Our
terrain is also called Klára-Puszta, whereby Puszta signifies
a croft or estate outside a village. Until the second world war, the
whole area was in private ownership of the famous Zichy family. They
were one of the richest Hungarian families and had properties all over
the country. After the war, most of the family members left the country.
In former times, a magnificent manor house and some little houses for
the staff were part of Klára-Puszta, too. The manor house still
exists today, but it does not belong to our ranch any longer.

Our visitors and guests will be impressed by the wonderful landscape: it is characterized by a huge, almost 6x5 km large and deep "amphitheatre", the so called Péscely basin at the northern shore of the Balaton. Péscely was declared a recreation area in 1980. In 1992, it became a nature reserve, and since 1997, we have been in the middle of the national park Balaton Uplands

The stables join the hotel and the restaurant in a semicircle, thus forming a beautiful courtyard which is used as a terrace. You can sit next to the horses, which will watch you curiously from their boxes ….
